Profit Loss Break-even

For education only, not financial advice. This tool shows hypothetical payoff at expiration using simple math. Options involve substantial risk of loss, including the entire premium. Consult a licensed professional before trading.

How it works

  1. Pick call or put and enter the strike, the premium you pay per share, and the number of contracts (each contract covers 100 shares).
  2. Move the slider or type the stock price you expect at expiry.
  3. Read your max profit, max loss, break-even price, and see the full payoff curve on the chart.

The math

Call payoff per share: max(0, S − K) − premium. Put payoff per share: max(0, K − S) − premium. Totals multiply by 100 shares per contract, times the number of contracts. Break-even for a call is K + premium; for a put it is K − premium.
